The best spare ribs we have ever eaten and all the other dishes (pepper steak / chicken strips) were excellent :) A little tip: make sure you leave a little space for a dessert !! It is worth it! Thanks for this great lunch! We'll be back <3

It's the second time that I went there to eat the fantastic beef ribs which are very good, but the service was not good, i didn't feel comfortable. I put two stars for the service staff but the food is very good.

A portion of spare ribs in "normal size" is simply hard to manage, even for a good eater, plus a huge pile of fried potatoes, no other side dishes such as healthy vegetable. So you almost inevitably let some of the food you order go back and it is then destroyed, for me that's an unethical way of dealing with food. Less would be more here!

Actually good food and friendly service. But paying by card is only possible at the reception and the upper hall is reminiscent of a waiting room in a train station.

In itself, the offer and the location of the restaurant is very good. But what we experienced here today on October 8th, 2020 is simply not tolerable and acceptable. We ordered schnitzel twice (once with fries, once with spaetzle). We waited and waited and gradually realized that guests who came later had long since received their food. After we asked the service employee about the lack of our two dishes after waiting around 35 minutes, she said succinctly that she had forgotten to place the order in the kitchen. We paid for the drinks and left the restaurant immediately. There are enough other and more hospitable restaurants in Bad Säckingen ...

Good home cooking, the food was good. The spare ribs are highly recommended. The service could be friendlier. Didn't feel very comfortable about this.

The service is very, very unfriendly. They have so many customers, it doesn't matter if you lose 1-2 customers, I'll never go back to this restaurant. Next to it there is a restaurant MARCO POLO that is very nice service and very good meat. Yours sincerely Puschi kuraz

Unfriendly staff! We visited Bad Säckingen from Munich and wanted to eat there after a walk. After the unfriendly service from the waiters, we left the restaurant. He took drinks without filling out the guest list.When we wanted to order food, he wanted to have the addresses of every household, which was no problem for us, as we had been waiting a long time, so I asked him until I could fill in the addresses please take up the food in order to avoid long waiting times, as we had two hungry children with us. He rudely denied this with the comment that he doesn't serve us until we have filled out the form, but he has already taken drinks where his statement contradicted me. I myself can understand it very well if you have to work with a mask all day and this is also exhausting, but you don't have to treat your guests so unfriendly. I myself work in the restaurant business and am grateful for every guest who comes, after all, it's the guests who pay our salary. Especially in the Corona period, you should be grateful for every guest, especially since we have suffered the most in gastronomy. But you can't see anything of that from the waiters in this restaurant, it's a shame. The 1 star is even too much for the bad and sloppy service. Not recommendable!

We were in this restaurant on 08/26/2020 with 6 people. We had a visit from Munich and have planned dinner for this restaurant. After we sat down, we left the addresses on a piece of paper because of Corona. After 40 minutes the waitress came and tried to serve us in an unfriendly manner. Before he has any addresses from our guests, he does not want to serve us, said the operator called “Krasniqi”. However, our guests did not say that they did not want to fill out the form but that they needed a piece of paper and since we all waited a long time for a service to be served, whether the order could ever be taken while they noted down the addresses. He was rude and very rude. When I went in to speak to the managing director, he treated me very rude and insulting among many guests. We don't need that. I do not recommend anyone to visit this restaurant.

Cozy home-style restaurant in the best location on the Domplatz. Very comfortable to eat outside. Very friendly staff. Price performance ratio is right.

Incredibly unfriendly staff. After 3 minutes, "Do you want to order now or not?" Having to listen left us with no choice but to switch to the much more pleasant restaurant next door (Marco Polo).

It is always a pleasure for us to eat out at Black Whale. Also today we were served by very friendly staff who immediately implemented our special requests for our 2 year old son - thank you very much for that. The food is of top quality and there is plenty on your plate, the price-performance ratio is consistent. The best spare ribs far and wide, the salad plates fresh and varied with great fruit decorations. For my taste it should be a little more salad dressing, also for the bread that unfortunately gets dry quickly in summer :) I would like to see a small expansion of the children's menu, the two dishes that are there are very similar. We then simply put something together from the other side dishes. We can only recommend a visit.

We ordered sparerib vom rind and rind steak with peper and butter. They both were delicious and the quantity was alot. 2 rind steaks with fries for only 28.8 euros. And the sparerib costs around 22 euros. Service was good. Toilets were super clean on the second floor. Drinks were normal and good.

The ambience is just great! Nice terrace on the cathedral square with enough umbrellas. We just ordered something to drink. The Aperol was good, but it is for the price quite better 😉 Z. B. With a half orange slice on the edge of the glass. Service was attentive but not the friendliness in person.
